and Body Contouring in Ottawa
Thermage CPT® uses radio frequency (RF) technology to safely deliver heat into the deeper layers of skin, stimulating and tightening existing collagen while activating new collagen growth. The end result is tighter, smoother, and younger-looking skin.
Is Thermage CPT® Right for Me?
This skin-tightening treatment is most appropriate for you if you’re experiencing mild to moderate:
- Facial or Jowl laxity
- Sagging eyelids
- Body Laxity
While the results are not as dramatic as a surgical facelift or brow lift, Thermage CPT® is very safe, involving no anesthesia, surgery, injections, or risk of infection. There is also no downtime, so you can get back to your day immediately following your procedure.
With Thermage CPT®, results from your treatment are gradual, giving you a natural transition to younger-looking skin. This means you won’t look like someone else, or like your skin has been stretched. You will simply look younger, tighter, and more lifted.
Good for All Skin Types
Unlike laser treatments, Thermage CPT® can be used on all skin types and skin colors. This treatment can also be performed throughout the year, even on tanned skin.

What happens during a typical treatment?
We start by cleaning your skin with a 70% alcohol solution. Then we apply a grid stencil over the treatment area (this will be removed immediately after your treatment). A liquid conducting gel is applied to your skin, and then the treatment starts.
Is it painful?
During your treatment, you’ll feel a series of brief heat sensations as Thermage CPT® delivers energy deep into your layers of skin. This is the feeling of your collagen being stimulated and tightened. At our skin clinic, we are pleased to use Comfort Pulse Technology™ for a faster and more comfortable Thermage procedure.
Generally, pain medication is not required. However, if you wish to have a mild sedative prior to your treatment, we ask that you arrange a ride home as the sedative wears off.
How long is a procedure?
Treatment time will vary depending on the size of the treatment area. Expect to be in the clinic for anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours.
How many treatments will I need?
Typically, only one treatment session is required for a treatment area. For some patients, however, more than one treatment session will be required for optimal results.
When will I see results?
With Thermage CPT®, subtle tightening is noticeable immediately after a treatment. You will continue to see improvement for six months following a treatment.
In the first month after a treatment, your collagen and elastic tissue will contract, giving a firmer look to your skin. Over the next six months, new collagen and elastic tissue will form, resulting in a gradual improvement in your results.
How long do results last?
The effects of Thermage CPT® typically last two to three years. Results vary based on your own natural aging process, skin condition, weight fluctuations, and general health. You can repeat treatments safely at any time, for effective maintenance of your treatment area over the years.
What happens after a treatment?
Thermage CPT® skin tightening and body contouring is a no-downtime procedure, and side effects are typically no more than mild redness and swelling. In rare cases, patience will experience blisters and bumps, but these are not permanent and will heal over time.
