Fraxel Treatment

Restore Your Skin’s Radiance with Fraxel Laser Resurfacing

Sun, pollution, stress, fatigue, and the aging process all take a toll on your skin, reducing its radiance and healthy glow. There is a solution, though: the Fraxel re:store Dual Laser System. The Fraxel re:store system is an innovative non-ablative fractionated resurfacing laser, the gold standard in laser skin retightening and resurfacing.

Unlike other resurfacing lasers, the Fraxel re:store system uses patented technology to specifically target damaged skin using microscopic laser columns. Because it’s non-ablative, it does not remove a full layer of skin, allowing for greater comfort and minimal downtime and recovery. Each treatment session targets a fraction of skin at a time, which allows for quick healing and extremely effective collage rejuvenation.

Restore and Repair Your Skin

Fraxel re:store is FDA-cleared to treat many conditions, including:

  • Wrinkles around the eyes (peri-orbital wrinkles)
  • Pigmented lesions, such as age spots, sun spots, and brown spots
  • Poor skin texture and oversized pores
  • Actinic Keratosis, or precancerous skin cells

Fraxel re:store can give you smoother, fresher, and more radiant skin, improving tone and texture with this comfortable treatment.

How it Works

Fraxel is as revolutionary as the results it delivers. Unlike other laser treatments, the Fraxel re:store Dual Laser System precisely treats thousands of microscopic areas of the skin, using pinpoint lasers that penetrate deep beneath the surface to eliminate old, damaged skin cells. Simultaneously, it stimulates and triggers the body’s own natural healing process, replacing damaged tissues with new collagen, giving you fresh, glowing, healthy skin.

Because of the targeted and controlled nature of the Fraxel laser, targeted areas are surrounded by healthy skin, which greatly reduces the healing time and furthers improves the skin rejuvenation process.

Laser Skin Tightening at TosoniMD

Following a consultation with Dr. Tosoni and the creation of your personalized treatment plan, your first appointment will begin nearly an hour and a half prior to the use of Fraxel. We apply a numbing topical cream to the treatment area to ensure absolute comfort during your Fraxel treatment. After an hour and fifteen minutes, we remove the cream and begin treatment.

Your eyes will be protected at all times with appropriate covers during Fraxel use. The treatment itself takes approximately 30 minutes per treatment location. Cool air is circulated across the skin to help reduce discomfort. Many patients describe the Fraxel sensation as a fine, grating feeling. Fraxel is not a painful treatment, but will leave your skin feeling as though it’s been sunburnt. This is entirely normal.

Sunscreen or mild topical creams may be applied to ease any discomfort before you head home with a post-care package. Swelling around the treated area is normal for one to two days following treatment; Advil and other anti-inflammatories can be taken for swelling.

Please note that you should avoid exfoliating your skin following treatment. Keep your skin hydrated and out of direct sun exposure, and apply sunscreen regularly.

What to Expect

Results usually start to show in as little as 6 to 10 days after treatment. Following the recovery period, your skin will feel softer, look brighter, and have a much more even tone. You can expect a 15 to 20% improvement in your skin with each treatment, and results are cumulative.

Progressive results occur over 3 to 6 months as deeper layers of skin heal and recover. We recommend 3 to 5 treatments (spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart) for anti-aging goals.
